Computer help in Cranham.
Cranham sits on the eastern edge of Havering, a little further out than most of my patch. I plan visits here rather than squeezing them in, so calling earlier in the day makes a real difference to getting a same-day slot.
Around twenty-five minutes. I come to you, you drop it in, or I collect and return — whichever suits.
What Cranham houses are like to work in.
Quieter semi-rural streets with a good number of bungalows and chalet-style houses. Single-storey properties spread the rooms out horizontally rather than stacking them, which pushes the far bedroom further from the router than people expect — a bungalow often needs more help with WiFi than a two-storey house of the same floor area.
What comes up most here
- WiFi across long single-storey layouts where distance beats the router
- Planned visits with everything sorted in one go rather than repeat trips
- Repairs collected and returned to save you the drive
The jobs I do most round here.
WiFi & network sorted
For WiFi that drops out or will not reach the back of the house.
- Finding out where the signal actually fails rather than guessing
- Telling apart the three different problems: weak signal, congestion, and a slow line
- Repositioning, mesh units or wiring — whichever the house actually needs
Collect & return
I come and get it, and bring it back working.
- Collection from your door at a time that suits
- The work done properly on the bench rather than rushed on a worktop
- Being told what I find before anything chargeable happens
New PC home setup + teaching
New computer set up properly, and shown to you properly.
- Everything moved across: files, photos, email, printers, bookmarks and passwords
- The pre-installed rubbish removed and the machine set up the way you want it
- An hour sitting with you going through it, at your pace

Asked a lot in Cranham.
Why is the WiFi worse in my bungalow than my old house?
Because everything is spread out sideways. A two-storey house keeps rooms close to a central router; a bungalow stretches them into a line, so the far end is genuinely further away. One mesh point usually fixes it.
Is Cranham too far for a same-day visit?
Not if you call in the morning. It is at the edge of my patch, so afternoon calls are more likely to become next-day — and I will tell you honestly on the phone rather than leave you waiting.
I also cover these.
In Cranham and stuck?
