Why is my WiFi so bad in a solidly built house?
Thick walls absorb the signal, and the denser the construction the worse it gets. More power does not fix it — you need the signal to start closer to where you use it, which means mesh points or a wired run.
Can you do it without drilling through anything visible?
Usually. Mesh over mains or well-placed units solve most of it without touching the fabric of the building. If wiring genuinely is the only answer I will say so before starting.
